About Róisin
From a very young age I realised massage was my passion and my calling in life. After school I pursued my passion and went to Senior College Dún Laoghaire where I studied Holistic Therapies for two years and Spa Therapies for 1 year, realising that they very much come hand in hand. I then branched out to study Beauty therapies in Bronwyn Conroy Blackrock.
I was very lucky to get employed straight out of College in The Wells Spa Brooklodge which I will always hold close to my heart being my first job in the industry. From there I got a full time position in Druid’s Glen Hotel and Resort where I worked for two years, gaining great experience and at a 5 star standard that I still carry with me to this day.
As I always had an itch to travel, myself and my now husband decided to spread our wings and do a bit of traveling before taking the next step in life. So off we headed to Toronto, Canada for two years. Here we not only gained amazing world experiences but fantastic career opportunities also. As the beauty industry is so thriving in North America I feel I gained such knowledge and skill as a beauty therapist and now felt that I was stronger in all aspects of my career.
I came home a more well rounded therapist and felt I had the skills and knowledge from the 3 high end spas that I was so fortunate to work in, under my belt, to go out on my own and open up my own business.
I remember the Saturday before leaving Canada I asked my boss;
Do you think I should open up at home?
Her reply was;
Yes! You are too good to work for anyone else.
With these words of encouragement my decision was made, I arrived home to Ireland one week later and signed the lease the very next day. Within 5 weeks Vale was born and the doors were opened to the most exciting and rewarding journey I could ever have asked for.
